Mysteries of a Woman’s Purse Revealed.

Here I shall unveil and demystify a woman’s purse. Everything is some sort of necessity or another.

Purse and Wallet

The small wallet helps to show how small the purse really is. In the wallet are the standard wallet things as well as my cell phone. My mother got the wallet for me when she was in Hawaii. I’m so impressed. She found something with a Hawaiian theme in black and white. It there is a little grey and cream. But it is a little dingy right now and I should wash it.

Something to do.

Contents of ‘Something to Do’ although beeds are not shown.

I have a small stitching project for when I need something to do. I can sometimes fit a book into this purse, but not when I have all this stuff in it. Maybe I should clean it out sometime?????
The little project is actually very stuffed itself. Taking up most of the space is the small, multi-folded envelope to keep all the floss colors seperate and in order.

Pens, Pens, Pens, more Pens

I also seem to have accumulated a rather large collection of pens in black, blue and red.  I have one mechanical pencil for my gaming night (I hate pencils, I won’t even use them for word puzzles, but it is an absolute must for pen and paper RPG’s. Even I can’t get around it then) and one highlighter for marking completed stitches.  I’m not as good at remembering where aI left off as when I was younger.  I had a huge project and HAD to use a highlighter to keep track.  But I discovered that once you start using one you can’t stop.  You can’t really go back to keeping your place by memory.  I sometimes have my checkbook.  Since I destroy the covers, I don’t use them.

Soup and Beverage, Cough Drops and Pain Killers

I also have a couple packet of instant soup, a flavor packet to add to water, a fist full of cough drops, (I figured just a few would do for the photo) and several packets of various types of pain killers.  I figured one would do.  The soup is yummy Fish Broth soup that is more tea like than soup like.  Wonderful on cold mornings after the drive in to work.  And sometimes you just get sick of flavorless water and you need something with taste.

How I get in to Work

Nail Polish

Of course, I have to make sure I can get into work once I actually get there.

I’m not too sure how I ended up sith so many bottles of nail polish in my purse.  I really need to take most of those out.  I would hate to catch my purse in a door and crack one of those glass vials.

Misc Things….

And last but not least I have an assortment of miscelaneous items.  A Tide pen for accidental dribbles.  An inhailer, D&D dice so I can always find them.  A small tin that holds 6 tea bags.  A tiny flashlight. Two lip balms since I’m always losing them.  The green one is a green tea balm and much better than chapstick brand.  The white spool is actually a sparkly pearl blending fillment.  And the plug to change my USB camera cord into a wall charger.  It will not charge from the computer.  I had a tooth brush and tooth paste in there too but they actually belong in my work desk so I took them out and put them back in the drawer.

Hatred feeds Violence, Violence feeds Fear, Fear feeds Hatred

It is the circle of hate.

Jason Todd Ready, a Neo-Nazi founder of an anti-immigrant border militia appears to have shot his girlfriend, her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend, her 15 month old granddaughter, and then himself.  He advocated the use of deadly force to stop illegal immigration (he was based inArizona).  It may or may not be of any note, but his girlfriend’s last name was Mederos.

He blamed the violence in theU.S.on minorities and illegals, (Jewish, Blacks, and Mexicans, specifically). And then he does something like this. So where did the violence really come from?

It was already inside of him, already a part of him. People who advocate the use of violence to solve immigration problems are not a part of the solution. They are evidence of a greater problem in theU.S.The insidious nature of hatred that tells people that violence against the ‘other’ is okay and slowly leads to the thought of violence against anyone ‘not me’ is okay.

Ever since 9/11, hate levels in this country have been rising.  Inroads against ‘Hate’ that society had been making started to vanish.  Hatred of Muslims and Middle Easterners have continued to rise and increased hatred of Black Americans as well.

Proof of this is the fact that so many Americans still insist on believing that Obama is a Muslim and that the government officials in the state ofHawaiiare lying to the rest of the country and that Obama’s birth certificate is a fake.

Proof of increasing levels of hatred is found in the fact that so many people think that it is good and right to give up freedoms we fought a revolutionary war to get in order to be ‘safer’ from terrorists.

To me it is just proof that we allowed the terrorists to win.  Killing bin Laden was not a victory since we already lost the most important part of the ‘war’.  Our very lifestyle was altered so that people living with a layer of fear over everyday life.  This layer of fear feeds the hatred.  The hatred feeds the violence.  The violence feeds the fear.  All in one downward spiral.  It is a Viscious Circle.

Forward Retreat!

I would really like to go to the Nordic Needle retreat next April.  But boy is it expensive.

The registration is 350$.  Okay, this covers conference rooms for the classes and food and probably teacher’s fights and hotel rooms.

The class fees are reasonable enough that it makes me thing the class fees are only paying the teachers for their teaching.  It certainly is not enough to cover plane tickets/hotel bills unless the class sizes are bigger than I would expect.  I want to take the two Japanese stitching classes and the Jacobean black and goldwork class.

Then there is my hotel bill and driving expense.  The minimum I would need is 1100$.  This does not include any shopping money.

I figure I would have to set aside 75$ each payday until the retreat.  I’m not going to be able to do that for another payday.  And not this one I just had either.  That means I’m starting out two payday’s short.

Some friends want me to move in with them and I wanted to wait until the new landlady redoes the bathrooms.  That is one of her top goals on her long list of things to fix.  The former landlord wasn’t so good at keeping stuff in good repair.

Maybe I should do it sooner.  After all, 160$ a month savings over 5 months would be 800$ of the 1100$ I need to save up.

I could fly home for a vacation that is twice as long for half the money.  Only trouble is that I actually want to do BOTH.

Or I should save for 2012 and pay off some bills first.  160$ a month would wipe out a couple right quick.  But I’ve wanted to go on this retreat for several years now.

And now that I think on it, if I timed it for going to Hawaii with my folks (there is always the sofa bed in their timeshare). I could save up for another trip to Hawaii or get the camera I’ve been wanting.

I think that I need to stop thinking about it.  I should by some ceramic jars and label them.  Camera fund, Hawaii fund, Treadmill fund, Nordic Needle fund, Liposuction fund.  Save my pennies.  See where it takes me.
