Homicidal Wooden Dollies

Life is ... A happy skull smiling at you.

Life is … A happy skull smiling at you.

Sorry I vanished. I wasn’t having too good of a year last year and it just went downhill. I was rather afraid to turn it into blogging material because of the old idea that it could always be worse. I was afraid of making it into ideas and topics might result in the ‘worse’ becoming reality. I pretty much checked out of reality and entered the world of books. I spent a LOT of time reading.

I was determined to get back to this at the start of the year and was promptly in a major car accident. So this year is starting out with me being stressed out. I thought I might be ready to start writing about that nightmare accident until a friend from high school started posting photos from her own accident that was very similar. I found I still felt a lot of anxiety about it. I haven’t had accident nightmares but I’ve been having a lot of bad dreams about people trying to kill me. The race of wooden dollies trying to kill me with wax and lamp oil was particularly disturbing.

I don’t have as much spare time as I used to. Work loads have actually tripled. But I really want to get back on top of things again, this site being one of the things I want to start working on regularly once more.

Personal attacks will not be shown.

I don’t mind people not agreeing with me. But I will not stand for viscous or personal or degrading attacks because someone doesn’t like my opinion.

Those will be sent to the spam folder.

2012 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 7,600 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 13 years to get that many views.

Backed up and bogged down.

During the day, I sometimes find that I can’t ‘like’ posts and sometimes can’t get into the comments sections.  This drives me nuts and I have to wait and find the time when I can do it and get it to go though.

This can back up my blog replying and bog down my inbox.

Sometimes, when I get up in the middle of the night, I can crank through a bunch of it and get close to something resembling ‘caught up’.

That did not happen tonight as I typed some long comments.  That seriously slowed me down.

Friday, I’ll be heading out-of-town for 4 days.  My only lap top with a wireless card is OLD.  But it still usually lets me get online.  It is just a real pain to use.  So I may end up getting REALLY behind if I have to go four days without access.

I’ll use the hot tub at the lodge to console myself.  Hmmm, I wonder if I can get my Netflix to run on it… (the laptop, not the hot tub, that would just be weird).  And then there is all the photo taking I need to do.  But there may not be much snow.  I was hoping for snow.

Random Thougts at 1:00 am.

Posted in Life with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 18, 2012 by urbannight

I went to be ‘on time’ for a change and am now awake.  So what are the random thoughts of a person at 4:00 am?
I’m really tired of blowing my nose and having chapped nostril edges.  Sniffling, Sneezing, and not Breathing is not conductive to sleep.  Or driving.  Nothing worse than a massive sneezing fit that won’t stop when you are driving.

What’s with all these celebrities having babies.? It is everywhere on the online media.  It’s like the new ‘it’ thing to do.  I don’t see the big deal either.  They all go on like they just did something no one else can do.  Despite the fact that women have been popping out babies since the beginning of time.  It’s so natural that even animals can do it.

I hate pictures of Romney and Ryan and their giant grins. Even from the start, before I know a lot about Romney, he always looked insincere and like he was compensating for something. Much like a used car salesman trying to distract you from the problems with the car using showmanship. Paul Ryan looks like a bully laughing at someone he just sent flying into a pile of poo.  And when they show them together, with those huge, ‘shit eating’ grins, they look like a couple of snake oil salesmen celebrating how much money they scammed from the small town hick’s.

When I want to read a news article, I want to READ it.  I don’t want a video.  I hate video news articles.  I can read the info faster than they can tell it to me.   Don’t waste my time with videos.

I use Firefox on one monitor and Explorer on the other.  I wish it would let me select different home pages for each program.  I would use Yahoo on Firefox and MSN on Explorer.  That way I can get into MSN games and play while doing other stuff on Firefox.  I love playing Jigsaw, but it only gives 3 puzzles at a time.  I wish there was a greater varied of puzzles at all times.  And I finally beat Mahjongg Dimensions. There is only three levels.  That is kind of sad.

I really need to go back to sleep.  My brain isn’t really functioning right now.

Once again, Life Happens

I have three half-started blogs in my notebook and on my computer.  But life happened.  We are training a new person.  One person is having to do a huge project due by Friday and is therefore of f normal duties.  This effectively puts us down two people.  So I jot down thoughts and notes as I can.

I tried getting up early to create more time to finish those but my Plantar Faciitis has been acting up very badly and I really lost any extra time I had.  I’m coming down with or already came down with a head cold.  The result is that I’m more muddle-headed in the evenings due to tiredness.  I zoned out on the couch with SeaQuest last night.

I haven’t even been working on stitching projects.  About the most I’ve been doing is breeding sims and trying to get more alien sims.  Sims 2 rather than Sims 3.  Sims 3 you can make green, red, or blue sims.  You don’t have to get them abducted by aliens to make alien babies.  Less of a challenge.

I rather miss the supply officer from season one of SeaQuest.  He was funny.  I also think the original doctor was better.  The LT added the second season annoys me.  If you ever watched Red Dwarf, he is who Rimmer thought he should be rather that who Rimmer actually was.  And I’m not talking about Ace, who was pretty cool.  No, this is who Rimmer kept trying to be and thought he was, if only ‘they’ weren’t holding him back.

The Deluise brothers were good but never really filled the void the other actors left.  I think the show jumped the shark at the start of the second season with the addition of the new doctor and her ESP abilities.  I’m leery of season 3 because I think I remember not liking it.  What do you call jumping the shark a second time around in the same show?

Maybe one day I’ll finish the blogs of this week.  Maybe I never will.  I guess that is just life.

The Site Stats Page Makes Me Crave More Information

Today is a strange day at work. It is an even stranger day on Word Press. I’ve had very few views. But they come from Russian Federation and Australia with one view from the UK and the USA.

The search terms are even stranger.

Game of Thrones Forehead. Since I don’t have cable, I don’t know why there is a forehead reference in conjunction with Game of Thrones. I do understand how I might have popped up in a search and I think I have three blogs that have dealt with the title and the book and why I wasn’t watching the show.

Mary Kate Daddy Issues. Yep, I wrote a blog on this last week. I am just surprised my humble little blog would pop up in a search.

Something Old Something New Something Borrowed Something Blue. Hmmm, this one is harder to figure out. I’ve not used the saying before. I’ve not had many blogs about weddings. I HAVE had a fair number of blogs about the Tardis and Doctor Who in which I have mentioned blue any number of times and may have used it as a tag. Most often this happens in the blogs where I discuss the Tardis Project.

In fact, when I go to my all time summary of search terms, “Tardis” is the search that has most often brought people to me. To be completely accurate, out of all the Tardis searches it is Tardis Graph Paper that pulls people in.

Variations on twilight anesthesia are also common. I guess I’m not the only one who had an unpleasant experience when I was coming off the anesthesia.

My views have drastically dropped since WordPress isn’t sharing with Facebook in the manner it should. This has been more than a little disturbing for me. I didn’t think I cared about that until the numbers started dropping so terribly low.

When I see some of the odder countries, at least odd in relation to what I’m posting about, I wish they could tell me what was viewed. What did that person in Kenya read? How did that person in Singapore get routed to me? What have I talked about that Albanians find interesting?

I think stat’s page gives me just enough info to actually make me more curious and crave more information than it is capable of detailing.
